Lake Arrowhead Vital Statistics Lake Arrowhead in Georgia is located in a gated private community near the town of Waleska, GA. It is Georgia's largest private man made lake at 540 acres, construction on the dam started in the late 1960's. 14 miles of shoreline surrounds the water and the lake measures two miles from the North end to the South end. Being fed by a spring leaves it always full or nearly full, and it boasts depths of up to 80 feet. The water level does not fluctuate since it is not used for power generation or flood control purposes. Because the orientation is North/South, residents will always have sunsets and sunrises over the water. The lake overflows naturally at the South end and flows under the road to a beautiful hidden waterfall (picture below).

Boating on Lake Arrowhead GA Many home owners on the water have private docks. There is a marina with floating docks on the South end of the lake where home owners can have slips on a reservation basis. Gasonline and a boat ramp is located at the marina. Boating and skiing is allowed for homeowners with registered watercraft. Click the link learn about Lake Arrowhead Boating Rules and Courtesies. Personal watercraft (waverunners, jet ski's, etc...) are not allowed on the lake. Pontoon and ski boats are allowed. Skiing is also permitted on Lake Arrowhead Georgia.
The Second Lake in Arrowhead Many outsiders forget that there is a small lake on the North side of the property called Chickasaw Lake. Surrounded by Pinebrook Dr and Maple Ct on the East, North and West and Chickasaw Dr going over the dam wall on the South end. Many homes on Lake Chickasaw have docks. The lake (or pond if you will) is 15 acres in size and fed by a creek keeping it at full pool year round. The overflow at the dam wall underneath Chickasaw Dr continue on to Lake Arrowhead. Below is a picture of Lake Chickasaw from the dam wall in the winter.

Terrain The property is located in the hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The roads are undulating with fantastic water and mountain views. Click the link for a Lake Arrowhead Topographical Map. Some lots overlook the golf course, some have never ending mountain views and if you are really lucky you have both mountain and water views. Here is a winter view from the dam to the old clubhouse (that will be taken down and replaced by the Lakeside Village):
